STUDIO IS OPEN!!!!!

The Strong Body Studio opened today!!!! The new reformers are as smooth as silk in action and a joy to work on. The cardio equipment and the weight equipment are amazing as well. My sister came out all the way from Boston to help set up the lobby area to make it a warm and welcoming place to be - waiting for a session, or hanging out with your friends after a class.

Strength & Joy

As you may know, I always sign my correspondence, "Wishing you Strength & Joy," It is not an idle farewell. I feel both are equally essential to the individual, and I want the studio to represent and provide both to its clients. I want to help my clients find both in themselves and in the world. So how to do that?

the STRONG BODY STUDIO opens the week of January 25th!!

The strength part is obvious, the new equipment, "my babies" as I call them when talking to the lovely ladies at Balanced Body, are in a truck making their way down from Sacremento. The trip will be longer than expected as the rain/snow has forced the 5 to close at the Grapevine, and all deliveries are being pushed back.. The equipment I have is amazing. All complementing the basic premise of building strength.

The joy part? Well, I feel amazing after I work out on the Reformer, or after a PowerPilates class...but there is more. My daughter came up with my slogan yesterday: A STRONG body is a BEAUTIFUL body, and she is right. There is such beauty in a strong woman of any age. But that is only part of it as well.

There is joy in doing good. So the studio will also partner with non-profits that promote strength and joy. And since one thing that brings me abiding joy is being a mother to an amazing daughter, I have chosen the first non-profit to be WINGS, a consortium of women and daughters who work the joy of giving to their community.....

New Reformers with Towers ON THE WAY!!!!

Let me introduce you to our new equipment which should be heading to the studio on a truck Tuesday, January 19.

It is the Balanced Body Reformer with Tower:

January 25, 2010 - We Open!!!!

Balanced Body’s space-saving Reformer with Tower offers all-in-one flexibility, new programming concepts, and economical use of space.

The four-in-one exercise system of Reformer, Mat Station and Tower provides a complete workout in the space of a Reformer. Additional programming options include working in multiple planes of resistance, on a mat or moving platform.

This machine offers several advantages over similar equipment:

• Easiest conversion system. Two lightweight mats fit over the carriage and on top of the frame. No need to lift, flip or turn the carriage.
• Tower frame is chrome, engineered and built for stability. Its unique attachment system provides maximum stability and disperses the stress throughout the frame.
• Mats can double as floor mats. Non-skid feet keep them firmly in place.
• To convert from Tower to Reformer, just remove the mats, lift the risers, insert the shoulder rests and raise the footbar.

January 6 -- The Strong Body Studio Soft Opening

On January 6, we will begin to roll out the new studio.

Class schedule:

M - F 9:30 PowerPilates (aka Xtreme), 10:30 - Pilates, 3:30 - Pilates

M/W - 6:30 PowerPilates

Saturday classes will resume January 23 at 9:30 and 10:30

While the new reformers will not be here until the 25th (they are in expedited production now at Balanced Body), we will be holding PowerPilates Classes (cardio/Pilates fusion, similar to the classes I used to teach, but with new equipment, and an emphasis on metabolic enhancement as well as total body conditioning.

In addition, we will be introducing our clients to the cutting edge in vibration plate technology: the I-Shape. As you can see from the video, the I-Shape offers a lot more than the first wave of vibration plates. I am thrilled to be able to offer this technology to supplement the work you do with me.
